I wish I was her

You know how sometimes you get bored how you look and act, and when you look at other women you wish you had something they have: that nose, that smile, those skills? The grass always seems to be greener on the other side. ;) Well here are my "I wish I was her" women ;) Gee, I hope no one takes this seriously, this is just a little praise of women. ;) I mean this is just a little silly something and I am very happy to be me and everyone is beautiful. I am a photographer so I know.

I wish I was her because...

...she smiles a lot

...she is very good at what she does

...she is stylish (I am not too sure of her personality tho!)

...of the shape of her eyes

...she is one of the best photographers in the world (she makes the women in the picture look stunning!)

...she is french

The best knitwear in the world

I bought a jumper from Filippa K a decade ago. The knitting is still in a mint condition. The knitting itself is like it's never been used, actually, except that the elbow of it was a little bit broken but I fixed it. It is like a war scar actually. I wore it often, a lot actually. That piece of knitwear has travelled round the world, twice. I lived in it while I had a flu in Mexico (yes, exactly during the swine flu epidemic, but it is another story). I reckon that of all of my clothes that jumper with another fleece jumper from Peak Performance and yellow pair of Havaianas thongs (flip flops, Europeans!) have gone through the most what I've gone through and seen pretty much everything I have seen.

So, I got super-excited when I got an invitation from Filippa K to come to their Helsinki grand opening held last night. I went and had good time. Here is the little purse I got and that dear old jumper of mine.

A little war scar

No fluff. Used for 10 years. Unbelievable!

The rainy evening

When it is cold, dark and wet outside, I stay in with a good book, candles, tee and biscuits. :) Life can be pretty good even when it is storming! :)

This is true ;)

A little women-men dictionary for all the boys out there. ;)

Bosnia Herzegovina

Bosnia Herzegovina is one of the oddest place I have ever visited. I mean the thought of it, that I have actually been in Bosnia Herzegovina is weird. The country was in the war twenty years ago! And it is middle of nowhere! In addition to the war I didn't know anything about it, except they participate to the Eurovision song contest every year. That's it.

Today I know more: it is cheap, poor, but rising country. They want to be part of EU so bad that they designed their flag accordingly: with the blue color and some stars, so that they would fit in! Ooh, too cute! The food is tasty and their wine is surprisingly good too. I only spent few hours in the city called Mostar, where there are still signs of the war everywhere. They re-built the most famous bridge in that area in 9 years, after it had been destroyed in the war. What a hard working, proud people they are! I really do wish them all the best! =)

The view from the bridge

The temperature dropped from +44 Celsius degrees to +15 in a day! Huh?!

The famous bridge

The war was here

Two soups, a shared starter, two mains and two classes of red: all together a wee bit more than 20 euros. That's cheap as milk!

The Grand Opening!

Finally, finally I have come to the point where I can open my website to the public. It was a mission and a half, because I am hopeless with these things. I am not a wizard when it comes to dealing with the computer stuff. I actually hate all the manuals, all the electrical problems and ugh... But, after months and months of doing this, today I can finally show this to you:

Enjoy!

Maailman ihanin fiilis tässä videossa! =)

Smooth smooth tunes

California Dreaming - Bossa Nova Style

We went to a very cute wine bar in Dubrovnik. All the great wine were from Croatia. We tasted sweet dessert wines (blackberry and cherry, mmm yammy!) and listened smooth tunes by Bossa Nova. Life was pretty sweet at that moment. ;)

Dubrovnik

This is the most famous travel destination in Croatia; Dubrovnik. It is old, beautiful, interesting, walkable, compact, slippery when raining and spooky when storming. It is best in the early morning light before it is occupied by the tourists from the enormous cruise ships. It is the most annoying in the heat of the midday when it is too crowded (some of the cruise tourists have teamed up wearing the same color shirt!). It is the most gorgeous in the evening, in the light of the countless lanterns.

Note: there was  two Tommy Hilfiger shops in the small old town. The majority of the tourists from the cruise ships are from America, so is Tommy Hilfiger. Why would you travel to the another side of the globe to buy the exactly same stuff that is made (well not actually made, but designed at least, I hope) in your own country? At least there isn't ANY McDonalds restaurants in there, nor do I remember seeing them anywhere in Croatia: hooray!

More stripes!

As a stripe lover (here), I almost stumbled when I saw a small shop full of STRIPES! The shop is called Aqua shop. I think it is a Slovenian chain, but they have shops all over Croatia. The one I walked in is in Split. I had some difficulties to decide which piece of clothing I liked the most. Eventually I bought a long sleeve t-shirt. Just being in that shop made me happy. =)

Vela Luka

Our next stop was on the Korcula island, just a three hour ferry drive away from Split. Vela Luka is a tiny sleepy town on the west coast of the small island. The locals say that it is very busy during the tourist season, but luckily for us the season had just finished. I, even though I often am one, don't like tourists. I prefer to go off the beaten track (but in some remote parts of Croatia it is not advisable because of the old land mines).

Anyways, on Vela Luka we did some scuba diving (good sealife!), ate well (good seafood!), made new friends, walked and walked. We went to see a cave, just 3,5 kilometres away from the town. We took the wrong turn at some point and ended up to walk about 20 kilometres (half of it was a steep uphill). When we got to the cave it was closed (!!). Where the route to the cave begins there is a sign with all the information about the cave except it's opening hours. Who would have thought it can be closed; it is a cave after all! So, we climbed over the high gate and explored the cave on our own.

I really liked Vela Luka and it was good to have a quiet few days between the two bigger cities. I also do recommend diving in Croatia; it was enjoyable (saw few eels, a starfish, a nudibranch), not as good as in the tropical waters, but good. :)

p.s. I fell in love with the most cutest yellow car ever.
